OLINDA COUNTRY COTTAGES & INN, on the island of Maui, Hawaii, is located upcountry on the Northwest slope of Haleakala, Maui's dormant volcano. The atmosphere is quiet with crisp fresh country air, starry skies and misty mornings. Our 8.6 acre protea flower farm is a treat to explore.

We are surrounded by 35,000 acres of Maui's Haleakala Ranch, so the hiking in this area is spectacular! A state forest project and bird sanctuary are just a walk away. We are 30 minutes from Kahului Airport, 60 minutes from Haleakala National Park and crater,  and  leisurely drive from Wailea and Lahaina resort areas and beaches.

THE INN

OUR INN consists of the great room, three private bedrooms and two baths on the top floor of the Tudor Mansion. It is decorated with country antiques and collectibles, with beautiful Pacific ocean and Maui mountain views. Our Inn guests share the large living room and private entrance.

One of our coziest suites is The Pineapple Suite. Private and cheery - it consists of a large equipped kitchen and dining room area, a bedroom area and private bath on the ground floor of the Tudor house with private front and back entrances. It is decorated with antiques, hand crafted wood floors, and designer bedding.

Makawao town is full of lovely little Maui boutiques and Hawaiian art galleries. You can easily spend a day just browsing and shopping. There is a great selection of restaurants from Italian to Mexican to Health Food, plus live nightly entertainment. All are located 15 minutes from Olinda Country Cottages & Inn.

Haleakala Crater, Haleakala National Park, Maui, Hawaii

Haleakala Crater is a must for your daytime sight-seeing itinerary. Many people like to get an early start to view the sunrise from the 10,000' summit in Haleakala National Park.
